This is a book that every library instructor needs to have. I borrowed the copy my library acquired, and I know I have to buy a copy for myself. This is an excellent collection of library instruction lesson plans and activities written by actual practitioners. As the editors write in their introduction, the book is mean to be practical, especially for librarians who lack any pedagogical training. For those of us with pedagogy background (I have a teaching degree and experience), this book show more will confirm and validate practice as well as provide a wealth of new ideas. The chapters follow a basic pattern: an introduction, goals of the lesson, strategies, the actual lesson, and then a reflection on what worked and did not work. Unlike other items in library literature, the authors here will discuss what works and what does not work. Overall, highly recommended for instruction and information literacy librarians. show less
Terrorists with chemical weapons use Alcatraz as a fortress.

I know it's a lot to ask of a Michael Bay movie, but I really wish anything in it made any sense. If just, like, one thing could make sense. That would be nice.

Really liked the first chapter, but I'm just not a huge fan of separated out case studies. I'd just rather read a theoretical book that has smaller examples of successful programs sprinkled through out, because everytime I go to read a case study I feel like I'm going crosseyed and not absorbing any of it...
Sean Connery as a very crafty political prisoner who gets loose, and yet helps save the day, because he is treated humanely by another government guy. The Rock is Alcatraz, and a rogue military group plans to use a biological weapon. Suspenseful.
