The nonsense just does not end in this film, and not in a "oh this is an intentional anachronism to be funny" way. Unexplained flying reindeer (not yet affiliated with Christmas, so that's not where the magic is from), a human-looking Santa Claus that nobody questions, the word "Christmas" tens of thousands of years before Christ, northern lights always pointing north, pine trees growing on the North Pole, the mammoths somehow having brought a rock from childhood nearly their own size with show more them through three previous films off screen, and on, and on. There are some half-decent (and a small handful of actually good) comedy gags here and there, but what little plot there is is made up of trite 'adults should believe in magic!' tropes strung together to a quasi-story. Ah well. Keep your expectations low and it is watchable. I laughed a few times, most notably at the "frozen fingers" verses of "12 Days of Christmas". show less
