Adorable! I don't always like children's books that have a rhyme sequence but this was very well done and added to the story. The illustrations and colorful and sweet- the little chicks are my favorite. :)

I think this is an important story to share, however, I wish there was more context and details given. The map on the inside of the cover could have been explained -- just where in San Francisco is Chinatown, history of it, etc.? Also, I am not sure the illustrations will grab a young reader.

LOVE the example of print awareness (writing letters) in this book

At first I was worried that this book would be about a dog dying.

It isn't.

It's instead about an old dog who longs for a slower pace but a baby changes everything. But then as baby grows and begins to walk themselves......old dog discovers a friend!
