About the Author

Bernhard W. Anderson (1916-2007) was Professor of Old Testament Emeritus at Princeton Theological Seminary. After his retirement, he taught for several years at the Theological School of Boston University. He was also Annual Professor at the American School of Oriental Research, Jerusalem (now the show more Albright Institute) in 1963-64. Through his Understanding the Old Testament (now in its 5th edition), Anderson has influenced the teaching of the Old Testament for the past forty years. His recent works include From Creation to New Creations (Overtures to Biblical Theology, Fortress Press, 1994) and The Unfolding Drama of the Bible, 4th ed. (Fortress Press, 2006). show less
