Anna Campbell used the pen name Mrs. George Archibald after marriage. She was orphaned at age 14 and became a teacher in the Elmira public schools. In 1880, she married George Archibald Palmer and the couple had two daughters. Her books included Verses from Mother’s Corner (1889), Lady Gay (1898), and In the Blue Country (1910).
