Short biography
Lived near the Oak Ridge Nuclear Plant during childhood. Married Paul Thompson, a physician from West Tennessee, in 1957. They lived in France while he was in the Air Force. He died in 2005 in Memphis TN where she still lives.
She was a member of the Native Writer's Circle of the Americas and the Native American Inter Tribal Association. She investigated the government's seizure of sacred Cherokee land to build Tellico Dam in East Tennessee and helped establish the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum on its shores.
