Join us on October 16 at 7pm for Mark Bailey and Edward Hemingway's Of all the gin joints: Stumbling Through Hollywood History. With free whiskey (let's say that again: FREE WHISKEY SAMPLES) samples provided by High West Distillery, it's going to be a night of Hollywood history and highballs.
Author and screenwriter Bailey and illustrator Hemingway return to The Book Stall for a toast to their latest endeavor, aptly subtitled “Stumbling Through Hollywood History.” Bailey tells the true—and often surprising—stories of 75 of our most beloved actors, directors, and screenwriters with ribald anecdotes and memorable quotes—and recipes for their favorite cocktails. The two last visited the store several years ago with their book Hemingway and Bailey’s Bartending Guide to Great American Writers.

Saturday, June 22, 11:00 AM Story Time: Edward Hemingway presents Tiny Pie Brooklyn illustrator Edward Hemingway brings his lifelong love of elephants to the illustrations of heroine Ellie the Elephant in Tiny Pie! The only kid at her parents’ “grown-up” party, Ellie is told to keep out of the way, and she can’t reach the food because let’s face it – everything’s made for grown-ups. Then Ellie discovers a cooking show put on by mice in the hole of her kitchen wall, and learns that “if you’re big enough to eat dessert, then you can make it too!” The book includes a recipe for tiny apple pies contributed by celebrated chef and food activist Alice Waters, and the authors and illustrator will donate a portion of the book’s proceeds to Waters’ Edible Schoolyard Project. Today at Greenlight Edward will read and draw pictures from Tiny Pie, and show kids how to draw their own tiny treats!
