I really enjoyed it. This is the first book I have read by this author. It is difficult to say too much about the plot as it would give things away, things are revealed slowly with each chapter. Sarah is on an island with a man named Julius King, who is involved in criminal activities. She is not there by choice, the circumstances are revealed but by bit as you read each chapter. There are business associates who visit the island but no-one will help her and even if someone offered she would struggle as she doesn't trust anyone.
I didn't think the plot was obvious, kept the mystery going, I would have liked a longer epilogue but I did like that you occasionally got Julius's POV.

I'm not sure. ^^^ To answer the goodreads question...

The writing was on point.

For most who loves a crazy twist, you'll love it.

For me, I was stabby for 53% of the book because "WTH is going on"
The next 47% far less stabby "Ah I see where this is going"
The epilogue "Well, okay then"

This book has taught me a couple of things: I want a Julius to touch me like that no matter how much I should hate him. Next, Jamie and Nikki cannot be trusted. Last, yes everyone deserves the T-shirt.

Smart writing, entertaining ride.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I am obsessed with this series. I normally draw the line at overly-possisive alphas, sometimes there is such thing as too much, but not with Haithem. Part bad guy with his secrets and part good guy with his love and desire to help the world; he's all the brooding, handsome, intelligent man you could possibly need. Angelina is a bit naive, overly-emotional, a bit obsessive, and the perfect girl for Haithem as it turns out. These two are unforgettable. Angelina has willingly gone along with Haithem's plan, her love of him strong enough to outshadow her home where he family and friends are with no knowledge of her whereabouts. Things aren't easy though, danger lurks at every turn as Haithem pushes to achieve his goals, working for the greater good against money hungry evil. They've exhausted all their options and when Plan D happens...let me tell you, I think I reacted just like Angelina did. This book takes insane to a new level, it's twisty and suspensful, exhausting and emotional, but also so very romantic and sexy.

He was here. We were together. It'd be all right, we just had to make it to the end.

As the follow up to Didn't I Warn You the life of Angelina and Haithem is just as intense, it's action-packed, and it's so unpredictable. I loved getting time with these two characters again, even though it's under less than ideal circumstances. Amber A. Bardan brought back these characters I love so much, but with more complexities and a lot of character development. Their relationship has evolved, but the dangers in Haithem's life has too and his desire to protect Angelina outweighs everything. The details are extensive, I could picture the streets of India, feel the heat of Malaysia, and I felt the emotions from Angelina as her life flipped upside down once again. Didn't You Promise definitely packs a strong punch, I couldn't step away from this book for anything and read it late into the night. I felt like I was Angelina, like I was there trying to pick up the pieces of my life and my heart.

I loved the lion that protected me, but I remembered the shark who stalked me. And I loved the shark as well.
That vicious animal was rising again.

The only struggle I have is at war with how much I love these two characters. While there's a lot of character development and growth, we also revisit just how possessive Haithem is and just how naive Angelina is. Both of these have major mood swings that are hard to keep up with and as a reader I got frustrated with the ups and downs of their relationship, especially after things settled down in terms of danger. The book takes place of a lengthly period of time, but unfortunately we only get a glimpse so I had to convince myself their changing emotions and constant acceptenace and forgiveness came with time, rather than the quick moments we had. It comes across as though Angelina's love encompasses her life and overshadows all other feelings, but we know that as untrue. Then Amber dangled Avner in front of us and I realized he was even more unforgetable, even while reading this book I thought back on him. Hard to follow a story when you're like, mmm that other dangerous man would be fun to have around. Now I want more and right now..not later!

His name repeats in my head like a siren-a sound that echoes over and over on a loop-until whatever meaning it has becomes a blur.
Haithem, Hiathem,Haithem.

You must read Didn't I Warn You? in order to read and understand Didn't You Promise?, trust me though, these are worth the read. These book come to life as you read, you'll find yourself as the main character, living the tumultuous sea of their emotions. It's action-packed, erotic, and such a great addition in the Bad for You series.

He pleads to me in his rough gorgeous native tongue. His lips bleed his heart against my skin. My body arches, the sound of his voice penetrates my soul.
