I imagine that this book was written to give young children self- confidence as the enter school. However, I hope they don't become a "bossy" king of kindergarten!
There is a very enjoyable read aloud on Storyline online.

PreS-Gr 3—Oil paintings bursting with energy and exuberance are the foundation for a layered manifesto of
affirmation and industry, celebrating an empowered Black child while also briefly addressing and rejecting the painful
sting of others' insults and dismissals.

Primary Level
This book talks about the different ways you can look with hair cuts that make you more unique than the other.
I would recommend this book to teachers in Elementary school who are doing a lesson on individuality (what makes you special [Features/ Qualities]).

Gr 8 Up—Tommie Smith, who famously raised his fist at the 1968 Olympic games, led an interesting life leading up
to and following that moment. The clashes between his personal ambitions and historic inequality make this graphic
memoir by turns enlightening and inspirational.
