This is a great collection of children's ideas of what would constitute a "perfect world" from their perspectives. The breadth of answers makes this book feel very real. Answers vary from silly ("We could ride roller coasters to get places instead of trains and cars"), to realistic ("My sister wouldn't read my diary.", "There wouldn't need to be an endangered species list.") to even heartbreaking in their truthfulness ("My dad would be here. He died of a heart attack and now there is no one here to call me Stinker.").

There are a myriad of excellent examples in this book to showcase for a writing prompt. I think kids will find this book relatable and also be inspired to write down their own ideas of what a perfect world would be.

You really walk away from this book with a sense of what kids are paying attention to, what their worlds are like, what they are capable of understanding, and what really matters to them.… (more)
