Steven J. Benedetti was born in Caldwell, Idaho on June 24, 1950. From his early childhood he had a particular interest in science in general and geology in particular. He received a B.S. in Geology from Idaho State University in 1974 and a M.S. in Geology from Texas Christian University in 1976. His Master’s thesis dealt with the paleontology of parts of the state of Chihuahua, Mexico and was part of a larger effort by the TCU geology department to describe the geologic history of Mexico. Since graduation he’s spent more than thirty-two years working in the oil and gas industry in the United States, Russia, The Netherlands, over virtually all of Latin America and in parts of Asia. He currently lives in Santiago, Chile where he is working on the final two volumes to the A.O. 188.8.131.52.0 trilogy and a scientific work on earthquakes of South America. He is married to the former Sylvia Angelica Andrades, who was born and raised in Chile. Sylvia kindly provided the artwork for the cover of this novel.
