Short biography
Monica Berti has a Habilitation for Ancient History and Digital Humanities (Habilitation monograph: "Digital Editions of Historical Fragmentary Texts") and in the academic year 2021/22 has represented the professorship of Ancient History in the Historical Seminar of the University of Leipzig. She is also DFG leader of the project "Text-based Extraction, Analysis, and Annotation of Ancient Greek References to Authors and Works". Her research and teaching activities are in the fields of "Ancient History", "Digital Classics", "Digital History", "Digital Philology" und "Digital Humanities". She is currently working on digital fragmentary historiography and on Named Entity Recognition (NER) for ancient Greek and Latin. She is the recipient of the Theodor-Litt-Preis 2018 for special commitment to teaching. More information is available at http://www.monicaberti.com.
