Julia Fierro & Miranda Beverly-Whitemore Wednesday, May 21, 7:30 PM Julia Fierro presents Cutting Teeth Miranda Beverly-Whitemore presents Bittersweet In conversation with Cary Barbor of the Books and Authors podcast Two local Brooklyn authors present their novels of summer vacation intrigue and drama! Julia Fierro’s Cutting Teeth delivers razor-sharp commentary on the precariously comfortable lives of a tight knit group of thirty-something Brooklyn parents and their children who gather at a shabby beach house on Long Island for a summer weekend, and find themselves wrestling with secrets they can no longer ignore. In Miranda Beverly-Whitmore’s Bittersweet, an ordinary girl spends the summer with her college roommate at her wealthy family’s Vermont estate, but as she finds herself becoming an insider, a terrible discovery reveals what the blue-blooded family may have done to keep their power intact. The two authors talk about the art of writing – and the perils of vacation cottages – with author and journalist Cary Barbor, creator of the popular Books and Authors podcast.
