MelindaDean | 3 other reviews | Oct 23, 2015 | I like the title of the book, but it's a bit misleading unless you understand the author's definition of lazy.
This is not a book about how to make a million dollars a month by working 10 minutes a day, as nice as that would be.
Instead it's a book about being lazy, meaning finding the kind of work that pays you without feeling like work. It's the zone where work, commitments and pleasure all become one, so work doesn't feel like work. You are doing something you love and would do anyway, on your own time, but you've turned it into your profession.
Sounds like a dream job to me.
The book gives ideas how to figure out what your laziness is.… (more)

Also teaches the importance of surrounding yourself with people who support you in your "laziness". Weed out things or people that do not inspire you consistently or hold you down because it is not worth the effort. Once you do that physically, you have to do it mentally too. The principle that was the most useful to me was once you get rid of the dead weight of what is holding you back in life, you have to refuse to pay the dead relationship tax. You can not carry around the guilt or the entrapment of carrying around what was holding you back. Let it go!
Some of the material was common sense, but it was a helpful reminder of what we need to be doing that inspires us. Each chapter shared quotes about things in life. My favorite quote was "Write only what you love, and love what you write. The key word is love. You have to get up in the morning and write something you love, something to live for." - Ray Bradbury.
The authors ask you questions to reflect on throughout the book to help you find your "laziness". There is space in the book to write down your answers.
If you are looking for a short read, and wanting to find what you love to do to leverage your laziness than this book is for you.
