Many children know about Thor and Loki due to the Marvel Universe. Older children may have seen Vikings, a popular History Channel show. I was an avid fan of Vikings, and recently read The Witches Heart, which was a story based on Loki and Angrboda, and Ragnarok, the fall of the Gods. This graphic novel was a quick read of four different norse myths. One was about Thor vs Loki, the next Thor vs The Giants, then The Death of Baldur, and finally, Twilight of the Gods (aka, Ragnorok). The illustrations pair exceedingly well with the text. The characters are all accuratley portrayed as they would have been in the actual Norse Myths as written by the Vikings. It was a quick read, partly due to how fun the stories were to read. Graphic novels read faster than the typical novel for me, so i easily zoomed through it. Norse Mythology is less common than the typical Greek Mythology, for example, that we often read or see about. Students looking for an easy introduction to it would really enjoy this graphic novel.
