The idea of an angel breaking celestial law for a human lover he has mourned over for millennia is very powerful. Add to that the machinations of an unknown being who reincarnates said human lover illegally, and you have more than enough reasons for the angel to go a little crazy with the need to find and rescue his lover.

Nathan is a werewolf and rescuing an angel, then helping him find his grace, is not exactly something he is well prepared for. His usual sources of help desert him when they find out he has landed himself in the middle of an ‘unholy mess’, but that is only the start of the adventure to come. I liked how down-to-Earth Nathan is. He is definitely all about the here and now, a good counterweight to Ramiel’s concerns about eternity.

Ramiel is an angel who has been in love for three thousand years. When he finds out someone illegally snapped his ex-lover from paradise and reincarnated them, he loses it. Big time. His banishment to Earth is meant as punishment and may leave him without his powers, but his determination is undented. He is a great character and has a lot to learn in this new environment, but his belief in love being forever is strong enough to start making things happen.

This book is an interesting look at one of the many theories about how Heaven, Hell, Earth, and everything in between might be connected. This particular interpretation struck me as totally unfair and very flawed – and then I realized this made it more realistic, not less. This story about celestial happenings does not conform to my sense of justice, but neither does the universe I live in. So, if you’re up for a slightly different interpretation, if you want to read about a battle of good versus evil that encompasses more than ‘just’ angels and demons and if you’d like all of that sprinkled with a liberal serving of hot angel-on-werewolf action between the sheets, you will probably like this book. Just as long as you don’t expect more than a “happy for now” ending you will be fine.

This story didn't work too well for me. I felt the relationship side of the story progressed too fast, while the story stayed rather underdeveloped. Interesting idea, though.
