Read about the lives of babies, babies, and more babies! Read about the typical things that babies do each day through short rhymes while looking at large, detailed, cartoon-like illustrations. A baby wakes up, a baby sucks his toe, a baby gets dressed, and so on. Each spread contains a 2-line rhyme about what the baby in the picture is doing in an large, curly font, behind which is an illustration that covers the spread in its entirety. The illustrations have a phenomenal amount of texture in them, so that the reader can see the texture of the walls in the bedroom and fights the urge to wipe the snot off of one baby’s nose. While the complexity of the illustrations automatically draws readers in, the text and illustrations together do not have much to offer. The illustrations show exactly what is written and nothing more. The book would be better served without text. Nobody can resist cuddly babies, but there is not much more than that.… (more)

A delightful book that brings on the spirit of Calvin and Hobbes's 'Spaceman Spiff' (in a positive way) and on how things are not what they always seem to be.

Okay read aloud-maybe a little wordy. Mickey saves his pal Quiggle. They are pen pals so they have never seen each other, Mickey is tiny, Quiggle is big, Calamity ensues, then quick thinking to save the day.
