Myths grow and change over time, but the essential kernel of "truth" from which they were born remains the same—Arthur was king, vampires drink blood, the full moon triggers a werewolf’s transformation. In this workshop we’ll explore the use of mythic themes in fiction—where do myths come from, how are they shaped and changed over time, and what are some of the ways they have been incorporated into fiction? We’ll end with a robust discussion of some of our favorite themes in fiction and how our favorite authors added to (or possibly detracted from!) the mythological canon. (juliedawson)
