Realistic, attention-retaining and interesting.

Started off monotonous and slow. The end was a bit more exciting. It was still interesting, and the main character had more growth though. This felt a little middle book syndromey. I do love the inclusion of a non-christian doomsday cult. Cults are always fun in dystopian novels.

This book was stressful. The good, suspenseful kind. I honestly can't stop thinking about the incident being an asteroid. It doesn't seem to add up, but what do I know ? The big reveal was pretty easy to guess, but I didn't mind being along for the ride for a while until the main character talked about what I suspected.

Not "Lucifer's Hammer", but compelling none the less. Enough to lead me to buy Part II.
