Sunday, May 4 at 2 pm Join us in The Gallery for a wonderful opportunity as David Carroll presents his illustrations and drafts for his forthcoming children's picture book Turtle's Journey Artist, naturalist and writer David M. Carroll, whose Swampwalker's journal won the prestigious John Burroughs Medal for nature writing; and whose last (fifth) book, Following the Water, was a finalist for the National Book Award, will present to the public his work-in-progress, the children's book Turtle's Journey. David will display original watercolors he has produced to illustrate his text, offer several brief readings from the text, and discuss the long history of this book, which he originally drafted in 1989. He will talk of the ins and outs, ups and downs of publishing in terms of his first book for young readers, or read-aloud, which he has recently re-launched for publishers' consideration. Comments and questions from the audience will be most welcome.
