Robyn Catchlove

The author's story is unique in so many ways, exploring issues of gender equality, aboriginal affairs and environmentalism in Queensland in the seventies. Catchlove writes with a spirit of adventure and expresses a fierce determination throughout as a lone female voice in a male dominated pioneering fishing industry.

The book ticks over with ease and keeps up a steady pace, while the author details her plight in a conversational style with the reader. Unfortunately, for the work of a major publisher, I was pretty disappointed in the quality of editing. However, I'm really glad that this book received widespread distribution as it's an important and uniquely Australian story to tell.… (more)
