Born at Montargis in 1644. Became captain in the Regiment de Champagne. Author of many works, one at least of which (maybe "Les Annales de Paris et de la Cour") caused him to be imprisoned in the Bastille from 1702 to 1711. Died May 1712. His "Memoirs of d'Artagnan" were the basis of Dumas' d'Artagnan novels.
