I love the mechanism that allows the train cars to open up and reveal their contents, but the words and pictures are just too generic for me.

An odd little book to teach colors. The closest I can come to liking it is by thinking of it as a 1970s horror movie trailer as I read it out loud in a deep, ominous voice.

A cute and quick little picture book. It mostly names the different train cars and their colors and shows the movement of the train from page to page, going down a continuous track. The book has a nice flow and I think it's subject matter is one that will be popular with a lot of little ones.

This story follows seven children who decide to take a shortcut through the train tracks even though they know they should stay on the road, and a train is near.
