- Germaine Tailleferre (1892–1983),
French composer and pianist, was born at Parc-St. Maur, near Paris, and studied at the Paris Conservatoire and under Maurice Ravel. Germaine was the only female member of the group of young composers and musicians known as Les Six. She published her autobiography, entitled Memoires a l’emporte piece, in 1974.
