This was supposed to be their issue where they expressed their convictions and it is called that, but a discussion of the revolutionary queering power of affect, an essay on the dark absurdity of the contemporary police, an article on OCD and the dissolving limits of the self, etc., do not such a statement make, even if they are fun to read. As often, the best part of n+1 is the reviews--here, of the careers of Elena Ferrante and Spike Lee, which make me feel that the potential of art as a crutch for getting through this hard old life might not be completely exhausted.… (more)
