Short biography
Although little is easily found on the internet or in libraries about Duchartre he authored a book on folk stories of the Amazon Indians that was printed in French (500 copies) and in Portuguese entitled, "Legendes Croyances et Talismans Des Indienes de L'Amazone". This work is best known however because of the illustrations by Brazilian artist V. de Rego Monteiro, who did many Brazilian arte noveau drawings therein.
Duchartre is best know for the work on Italian Comedy cited above herein.
A photo of Duchartre can be found in the book, "THE RAPE OF EUROPA" about stolen artwork retrieved after WWII.
