This was a lovely poem book for grades k-2. My favorite was "The Extraordinary Puffin." It was fun, lively, and kept me reading.

This collection of poetry was not one of my favorites. Based on the title and front cover of the book, I believed it would contain poems about animals. The majority of the poems were about nature and the seasons. The poems were not funny. I would probably not read this book to my students.

A collection of poems are in the book. Most are about nature. The poems were not very moving or attention grabby. The lines were not in a good rhythm or funny. This was not my favorite collection of poems so I probably would not read it to my students.

I Asked a Tiger to Tea is collection of poetry appropriate for grades k-3. There are poems about asking animals to drink tea, six little monsters behavior and an elegant Edward strolls to visit his queen in his slippers. There is also a poem about learning to whistle form the birds and many others about flowers. There are reoccurring topics in many of the poems including nature, flowers and the seasons changing. My favorite poem was called Look in a Book. Look in a book and you will see words and magic and mystery. Look in a book and you will find sense and nonsense of every kind. Look in a book and you will know all the things that can help you grow. The poems in this book are easy to read and understand. The poems can be used for lessons about rhyming and poetry. Teachers should always have books like this around. They have light friendly poems to read during down time or before class starts.… (more)
