Merle Roberson went to Jackforks looking for his father who he had just learned ranched in the area. He learned that his father had been killed a week earlier, shot in the back by an unknown shooter. and local land baron, Rex King is a suspect. Quickly Roberson joins the small ranchers who are being forced off their land by King and outlaw Leigh Deering.

When he first arrived in Jackforks he learned a brother and sister had inherited his father's and had been raised by his father. They were being harassed by King and made the decision to join the fight with King easy. Fast moving with almost continuous action.… (more)
