This is a short book attempting to help the professional archaeologist define zones of interaction between differentiated cultures. English being the language with many similar words defining zones of contact, Dr. Feuer, an authority on the Archaeology of Thessaly in the bronze age, has attempted to establish a reliable vocabulary when dealing with the three major types of zones of contact which can be defined by artifact clusters. While the language is of necessity technical, the effort is needed given the current state of pre-written history activity by this discipline. Professionals should certainly read this book, and the involved amateur should give it a try, as well.… (more)
