FOUR OF A KIND is youngest brother Adam Malone’s book in the Saddle Key Mysteries, Sheila Fowler’s wonderful cozy mystery series set in the Florida Keys with all the fish sandwiches and key lime pie you could want in a book! I love books that describe the setting so well, it’s like you’re taking a vacation there, and the Saddle Key mysteries hit the spot!

Adam is an investigative reporter who lives in Miami and also covers the Keys. The mystery plot in FOUR OF A KIND centers around a woman who washes up on the beach with no memory of who she is at first. We soon learn that Lindsey was escaping dire circumstances and that her daughter may be in danger. With drug dealers, the Russian mafia, and more twists in store, this book takes you for one heck of a ride. (I say heck because you have to look out for Chloe’s swear jar—she’ll get you every time. 😊) This May-December relationship was great to read and I loved the ending of the book for several of my favorite couples in the series. Now I can’t wait to read book 5! Such a fun series that draws you into the next book at the end of every installment. 5/5 stars.… (more)

I am enjoying this cozy mystery series about the Malone family, set in the Florida Keys. This third book of the series, THREE PIECE SUIT, features Dr. Dex Malone, a pediatric specialist who also gets called in to work ER shifts in the tiny hospital in Saddle Key. Emily Holloway is in a car accident at a wedding for one of the Malone siblings… except it appears she was drugged. I liked how this novel was part romance, part CDC outbreak investigation, and part murder mystery. These are fun cozy romance mysteries that I enjoy and I love the Florida setting and the key lime pie. Tina, the police officer second MC in this one was a great character too. 5/5 stars.… (more)

ONE WAY OUT is a terrific mystery set in the Florida Keys just as a hurricane is bearing down! I love books that do such a great job of describing the setting that it’s like you’re really there on vacation, and I could taste the shrimp and key lime pie, picture the gators and houses up on stilts and the palm trees… it was just great! Allie is chief of police in a small island community. Her ex, Mike, comes back to town to help his grandmother and trouble follows him in the form of his estranged wife, who he’s locked in bitter custody battle with. It’s a murder mystery, so no surprise when she turns up dead and she has some dark secrets of her own from New York. I liked the way author Shelia Fowler gave the characters interesting backstories and I really felt like all the characters on this little island came to life. This was a great mystery with some great twists and turns, and I can’t wait to read the next one! 5/5 stars.… (more)
