What a wonderful eye opening read about the grace of Jesus Christ. I would encourage every Christian to read this book so that they might learn the "reality of a relationship", instead of "activity in the desert". Chapter 6 where Bob George writes about law and grace was fantastic and especially meaningful. George uses personal stories that he has learned over the years to help tell the story of grace, God's grace.

For 3 years I was told "If there would be only one book to read beside the Bible, it would be this book" but I ignored it for 3 years. When I finally bought it, I began reading, didn't stop anymore and contacted my pastor at about 2 midnight (!) how great this book was. This is the only time ever I enjoyed hearing "I told you so" It reminded me of the farmer in the bible who went out, sold everything, to buy this valuable pearl. Reading this book I felt as if holding that pearl in my own hands.

The author deals with the old man via eradication, and the new man via law and habits. All of these one-naturists are Jay Adams-type habituationists, i.e., "Develop new good habits to push out old bad habits." FROM ERADICATION TO LAW -- Who was I before? Bob George in Adam without God's Spirit'. spiritually dead, a guilty sinner. That old man is dead and gone; he will never exist again (Classic Christianity, p. 90). That old me is dead and gone. She died on the Cross with Jesus (p.105). God said in the New Covenant [Israel's], "I will put My laws in their minds and write them on their hearts" (Heb. 8:10) (P. 66). Even though the sin which indwells my flesh still pulls me, and though my mind is still subject to error, deception, and discouragement, I can say with Paul, "In my inner being I delight in God's law" (Rom. 7:7) (Growth In Grace, p. 112).… (more)
