Short biography
Fanny Chambers was born in Mississippi and went with her family to Texas during her early childhood. She spent the rest of her life in that state, except for a period of seven years when she lived in Mexico. Fanny was married twice, firstly to Mr. Gooch, and secondly in 1889 to Mr. Iglehart. Fanny wrote several children’s books and articles for various magazines, but was best known for her study of the native people of Mexico in her Face to Face with the Mexicans (1887).
