Short biography: He was ordained to preach among the Disciples of Christ in 1898. The following year he moved to Michigan and began his preaching career. He committed scriptures to memory and could quote in excess of 25 continuous hours worth of Scripture without looking at a reference including narratives of every book from the longest to the shortest.

Doctor Halley was presented with the Chicago Bible Society's Gutenberg Award in 1961.
