Bound for Australia by David T. Hawkings
A guide for family historians wishing to follow the movements of ancestors who were transported to Australia. It sets out the systematic sequence from conviction at court to life in Australia.
This is not really for the average reader; it's targeted toward historical researches trying to make head or tail of land records in England (and thus would be of no use to Americans, in the main). Having taken property records courses in law school, I was able to understand some of what was being discussed, though English practice differs sharply from American practice. The real selling point for an American here are the examples that are liberally used in the book. Recommended for specialists.
