Undermined (Daniel Owen Welsh Mysteries, #1) by Ripley Hayes
Calling a romance a 'gay mystery' is silly as they aren't mysterious, they are investigators from two different towns' police forces, investigating a murder. But that's marketing for you.

This takes place in Wales. The prose is often understated, which I enjoy. It is a little uneven, and I did get a bit lost between one town and the other, but the latter's definitely on me. I liked the guys, and the mystery despite knowing who did it from the start. I may give #2, a novel, a try.
