I won this book on Goodreads.

I loved the quirkiness of the story. Very creative and fantastical... If at times hard to decipher the Scottish brogue even with the opening lesson.

I stuck with it because I wanted to know how things wrap up for these characters, and it certainly was an unexpected and eventful ride! I seem to have lost my ability to really appreciate Hearne's level of silliness -- I loved the Iron Druid series, and it feels like these books just don't live up to them. I appreciate the found family. I appreciate the imagination that goes into this plotline. I am sincerely happy to see how things work out.

Atticus is at it again.

This being the 7th book in the series, there has been a lot of set up leading to this. Granuaile is a fully developed Druid. Owen is trying to figure out what he has missed over the last thousand years. Atticus is trying to deal with the fae courts. Havoc ensues, snarky comments are made, feet are firmly in mouth, and the whole gang end up with a fight that no one was expecting.

This time the book takes a look at 3 different perspectives of the situation which is new to the series. They also have different scenarios going on and separate battles to fight. It is almost like 3 different books all under the same cover. I have been so used to reading from Atticus' perspective that it took a bit of getting used to to flip to other characters.

It is everything I expected in a Hearne book. Read it and you will love it!

I liked the first book in this series very much. I didn't like the second, and I very much don't like this final one. Too wordy, too plotless, too cutesy. I couldn't manage to read very far because it is so dull and, at the same time, full of silly stuff. What happened between Book 1 and Book 3? I don't know but really, Book 1 was great.

I received a review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
