Full Circle by Jane Hersey
I am sorry to say that I just could not get into this book. I don't know if it's the darkness of the book or the fact that it's the sequel to another book and I haven't read it. I mean there were points in the beginning of this book that really needed to be cleared up from the last book or the reader would stay confused and that was me. Try as I might I just had to give up. I received this from the author through Goodreads for and honest review.
Jane Hersey shows us that the human spirit has infinite ability to grow and can never be limited by circumstance. Full Circle is a beautifully written, heartfelt memoir that will change the way you look at your community, the obstacles in your own life and the American Dream. An inspiration, a must read!
Jane reminds us that the greatest acts of love and failure can occur side by side; that isolation and loss can give way to accomplishment and promise. She offers the awesome hope that, regardless of its past, a life can go beyond endurance and reach for triumph. She leaves us with the memory of a child who clung to and refused to surrender the dignity of her soul.
I highly recommend this book! It is so inspiring and truthful. If you enjoy reading books about tough real life situations then this is a great choice for you. Her life is extremely interesting and really makes you think.… (more)

This book was absolutely riveting... I seriously could not put it down! A very powerful account of a terrible childhood written in such a way as to totally engross the reader in the story. This book illustrates how much impact parental figures have on a child's life and how fortunate one is to have good parents and role models which, unfortunately, Jane Hersey did not. Kudos to Jane Hersey for sharing such a deeply personal story with us all. I'm looking forward to all future books from this fine author!

I cried over this-sad tears, angry tears, and heartbreaking tears. How a little girl could live through such a horror show and still be with us is a miracle. That she has risen above that hell to share her story with others is a blessing. The story is raw and personal-and you can't help but keep reading so that you can know that she makes it through.
