These poems didn't work for me. They are descriptive lyrics with obscure metaphors that didn't call up anything from me. The introduction says that Hinsey has a distinct sense of place, which I would agree with. So if you like poems that are very evocative of place but don't necessarily say anything coherent about the place, you might want to give these a try. Hinsey has a degree in fine art so many of her poems are related to art work as well.
