One of my favorite books. I love the strong female protagonist, Mathilde. She is wonderful and strong and will not stop until she finds out what happened to her fiancé during WWI.

I was struggling alot with this, constantly putting it aside and not really enjoying it but it suddenly took a very weird turn and I completely lost interest. My to read list is long enough without books I am not enjoying.

Very good historical from the point of view of a crippled woman who is trying to find out what happened to her fiancee in World War One France. Sort of a mystery too as facts unfold. Good French film.
