The BOOK/PLATE series is a new collaboration between Peck’s Specialty Foods and Greenlight Bookstore, pairing an excellent writer with inspired, original cuisine in an intimate setting. A 2011 Pushcart Prize Nominee, Saeed Jones’ work has appeared in publications like Hayden's Ferry Review, StorySouth, Jubilat and The Collagist; he is also the editor of Buzzfeed LGBT. Greenlight hosted Saeed at our Poetry Salon in July to present his chapbook When the Only Light is Fire (Sibling Rivalry Press), and is proud to co-host this dinner at Peck’s to celebrate the publication of his new collection Prelude to Bruise (Coffee House Press). The book has been highly praised by fellow poets; Rigoberto Gonzales calls it “a daring debut” and Brenda Shaughnessy asserts “It’s a big book, a major book.
