Elisabeth was an important writer of fiction and local history and biography and this, her second novel, focuses on Morfa, a mansion for which Thomas Johnes's romantic palace Hafod was the inspiration. The main character becomes obsessed with the house and her obsession destroys her life and those of her children. The book is one of the Welsh Women's Classics series published by Honno.
