A compendium of short biographies of prominent Quaker pioneers in the 20th century. Volume one of two, the other being Quaker pioneers in the rest of the world.
The book, published in 1987, brings together nineteen essays--mostly by American authors --that focus on a number of concerns, both current and continuing that impact on our global population.
