Only one confirmed pirate ship had been found when two galleon hunters were lured away from certain treasure from a sunken Spanish ship to look for a pirate ship off an island in the Dominican Republic. Based on certain sources they were supposed to find it in a specific location and yet it wasn‘t there. Years of research, tenacity, & ingenuity landed them the big prize. This an excellent book, well written and researched. Highly recommended.

Excellent! This was not a true pageturner for me but I enjoyed it from beginning to end and now I’m inspired to order a book on Apollo 13.

A riveting story of how a pirate ship was found including the personal, financial, and legal strains that go into the entire process. The background given of each man on this team of pirate hunters provides information as to the extremes to which they will go to reach their goals.

A fantastic book. At first, I was a bit thrown off by the writing style, and thought it dramatized things too much. But regardless, I couldn't put this book down. There were times when I surfaced from reading with a distinct feeling of having been there, of having touched that menacing shipwreck at the bottom of the ocean.
By the end of it, I was entirely engrossed in the story and its characters and the history of the mystery wreck. And then, in the epilogue, I learned that what I had thought embellished at first was actually meticulously researched and not overdramatic at all.
This will probably be my book of the year!
