The author/illustrator combines beautiful paper relief illustrations with a short narrative to give the reader a sense of the cities. He then adds easy to read facts about the people who lived in those cities, what happened to them and how they were discovered. This book is recommended for readers in grades three to six. This is a good book to read to children to show them the different types of houses around the world and the culture behind it. It can be used as a cross curriculum book to make connections between socal studies and science.
