Many Times But Then (The University of Texas Press… by Ann Lauterbach
This out-of-print book is Ann Lauterbach's first collection of poetry. After finding it at the library, I copied several of my favorite poems into my journal and then spent then next 10 years trying to find a used copy of it for less than $100. (They're going for a far more reasonable price nowadays). It was worth the wait, because, let me tell you, this collection broke my brain. I didn't know poetry could do this, could have so much energy and crackle, such a brainstorm of ideas and images. She has broadened my tastes in poetry more than any other poet I have ever read.… (more)
