Angel is the chocolatier at the Rawhide Ranch. Heaven Leigh is a little who is not as deep into little space as many of the littles there are. She gets into trouble by leaving the littles' dorm without permission. Master Derek has a plan for Heaven Leigh to work with Angel on his chocolate creations since she was a famous baker before coming to the Ranch. As they work together, they become close. Angel does not treat Heaven Leigh as a little but as an equal when they work together. He will discipline her when she disobeys the rules. When she plans a prank, it is a doozy. Will Angel discipline her? Will he decide she is not the one for him? Can Angel see the error of her ways?

I enjoyed this book. There is a lot of time setting up their adult story with some discipline given when she is in little space. I would have liked to see the relationship from both sides of Heaven Leigh's life--as a little and as a submissive. I felt as though not enough time was spent on the submissive side of her story.

That being said I liked that in the kitchen, Angel treated Heaven Leigh as an equal as she has as much experience as he did in the kitchen. She also had fame and money which she downplayed which I liked. She was down to earth. Both of their stories come out as they become acquainted with each other. Neither story is hearts and flowers. That Heaven Leigh was able to make through her life is a testament to her strength and abilities. I loved her prank. It was perfect. I wish I would have been there. Her punishment made sense. I liked that she could see where she did the same to people there as was done by Master Derek and Chef to the littles. She understood quickly and felt bad. I was glad that Angel gave her a sense of belonging and fitting in. She needed that. While he disciplined, it was appropriate for what occurred.

I enjoy this series a lot. I always look forward to more coming out.… (more)

I enjoyed this book.

The "Masters of the Zodiac" series is a collaboration between twelve authors set in a shared world in which Astrology is of great importance. Each book is about a different relationship involving a couple involved with one of twelve guilds devoted to the twelve signs.

"Scorpio" is the story of Cole and Natalie who met, fell in love and were married in a war zone, only to have their relationship fail when they returned home from the war. Now circumstances have brought them together again, giving them a second chance.

This is a steamy romance played out around a contracted dominant/submissive relationship. Cole finds himself in a position of command over Natalie, and they have to learn to trust and confide in one another both in and out of the bedroom. And how exactly does the secretive Scorpio Guild figure into their future?

The kink is delicious, the couple are clearly made for each other and just need to get their shit together, and the story works well as a standalone - it is the first I've read from the series and I had no trouble coming to grips with its world.… (more)
