This is a great book and is very fun to read. It talks about all the crazy laws out in today's country. The illustration is very cute and in between a crazy page or two there is a description on how laws came about and why we have laws. These laws were established between the 1800s and early 1900s. Today, most of them went out of date. This books is fun book to read to a classroom because it will engage kids to want to learn why we have laws today.

Full of quirky illustrations and off-the-wall examples, Kathi Linz's neat book pokes fun at some of America's most unusual laws while educating children on the law-making process. The best part of this title is the breakdown of our government's branches and responsibilities, which surely makes this reading beneficial to a Social Studies lesson.
