Working as a professional retouch artist, Otto Lohmüller educated himself as painter and designer. His work is heavily defined by his personal life; married since 1969 to Ute Lohmüller, he is father of two adult sons, born 1975, and 1977. Since 1952 he has been involved in the local and the international Boy Scouts organistion, the traditional carnival of his home town Gengenbach, as well as ideally and actively connected to the naturist movement. Also, he constantly casts a watchful eye on the developments of society, culture, and politics - while always keeping the human in the center of his observations.
Noted friendships with artists and authors such as Pierre Joubert, Serge Dalens, Jean-Louis Foncine, Michel Tournier, Josta Stapper, Heinrich Eichen, Dieter Vollmer, and others, extend his thematic circle.
