(7.5)I have been anticipating reading this book for a few years, especially after reading [American Dirt]. If I remember correctly, Luiselli was critical of [[Jeanine Cummins]], for sensationalizing a very serious situation in her book. There's something about how she explores the lines of literature v experience, not gimmicky meta but just looking at characters and people. This book is great on its own and also as a starting point for understanding her later works.

Fabulous. Incredible, rich in myths, a fable to be celebrated.

fabulous (adj.)
early 15c., "mythical, legendary," from Latin fabulosus "celebrated in fable;" also "rich in myths," from fabula "story, tale" (see fable (n.)). Meaning "pertaining to fable" is from 1550s. Sense of "incredible" first recorded c. 1600, hence "enormous, immense, amazing," which was trivialized by 1950s to "marvelous, terrific."
