Zoe Walker is riding the Underground home from work one day and perusing the local paper. As she skims the classified "adverts", she notices a small picture next to a dating website and has a feeling of familiarity with this photo...and then she realizes it's a photo of her. She is unsure as to how her photo is used advertising a dating website - she's happily married with two adult children, Katie and Justin.

Only after a woman is murdered does Zoe realize that she had seen this woman's photo a few weeks prior for the same dating website advert. She enlists the help of DC Kelly Swift.

Told in three points of view - the stalker, DC Kelly Swift and Zoe - the story unfolds with the police investigation into the dating website which would post a woman's commute route as well as a description of the woman and someone would pay money to follow her and abduct her.

Overall, a good book and story but a bit unrealistic at times. Good twist at the end.

On New Year’s Day, the body of Rhys Lloyd is found floating in Mirror Lake. Mirror Lake covers the border between Wales and England so there are two police precincts having jurisdiction over this mystery. DC Ffion Morgan is investigating from the Welsh side and has been forced into working with DC Leo Brady, who is investigating from the English side. The victim had hosted a New Year’s Eve party at his lodge located in The Shore, the development he was building. Just about everyone at the party and in the town are suspects.
Since this took place in a Welsh town, there are a lot of Welsh names in the book, which can be difficult to read/understand. The story shifts from past to present and you are able to get another character’s perspective of an event or sequence of events.
